The Energy & Materials Research Conference - EMR2017 will organize a free social program for conference participants and accompanying people.
The social program will consist of two guided tours; the first one will be on 6 April morning and the second one will be on 7 April morning (complete information below)
Conference participants/accompanying people will have to register/be registered filling the corresponding form to reserve a seat.
Please note that it will not be possible to register for both tours; it will be possible to attend only one (two tours offered - one included in the registration fee)
Tour 1 - Old Lisbon. Thursday 6 April
Thursday 6 April. Morning. Duration: 3 hours (from 10:15 - 13:15)
Visiting the old districts where the charm and tradition meet the modern life. Panoramic tour driving by Parque Eduado VII, Plaza Marques de Pombal, Avenida de la Liberdade, Plaza de los Restauradores, Rossio square and downtown (city center). Walking tour up to the Castel of S. Jorge, the cradle of Lisbon, from where you can enjoy a wonderful view of the city. Walk down the narrow streets of Alfama one of the oldest quarters of Lisbon.

Tour 2 - Lisbon of the Maritime Discoveries. Friday 7 April
Friday 7 April. Morning. Duration: 3 hours (from 10:15 - 13:15)
Visiting Belém, the monumental quarter of Lisbon, place of departure of the Portuguese navigators in search of other places. Visit the Church of the Jeronimos monastery, Unesco site, the Monument of the Maritime Discoveries and the Tour of Belém, the ex-libris of Lisbon.
The Hieronymites Monastery (Mosteiro dos Jerónimos)is located near the shore of the parish of Belém, in the municipality
of Lisbon, Portugal. The monastery is one of the most prominent monuments of the Manueline-style architecture (Portuguese
late-Gothic) in Lisbon, classified in 1983 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with the nearby Tower of Belém.
